About Us

Since the beginning of my career, I sought out challenging opportunities to expand my skill set as a CPA without walking the more "traditional" audit and tax path that CPAs so often walk.  That led me to join Huron Consulting's Forensic Accounting and Investigative Services division in the summer of 2007.  From there, my career focused on providing special project services for litigation and arbitration matters, mergers and acquisitions, and white-collar investigations.

 During my tenure as President and CEO at Paragon Compliance, I gained invaluable firsthand experience in the critical importance of a structured and well-organized sale process. I was responsible for developing nearly all of the sell-side materials in the months leading up to the transaction. After successfully executing the sale following nearly four years with the company, I bring a wealth of expertise to assist clients navigating their own business sales or transitions, offering strategic guidance through Hedges Financial Outsource (HFO) 

The decision to found Hedges Financial Outsource during the summer of 2025 came as an easy one.  I have a desire to continue to provide these consulting services all while maintaining the autonomy and flexibility that I enjoyed since my return to Rochester.  It also provided the opportunity to work alongside my wife, Kim -- my college girlfriend, turned wife in 2012 and "boy mom" x3 since 2020.  Her talent as a sales and marketing professional has been crucial in helping get past some initial writer's block and branding HFO.

When not diving into complex data sets, Microsoft Excel spreadsheets, or writing expert reports, I spend a lot of my free time coaching and cheering on my three active boys from the sidelines of their various sports endeavors, playing golf, or making memories on our family vacations - and fulfilling my lifetime goal of visiting all 50 U.S. States (only 11 to go!).
